THIERRY NOIR

French artist Thierry Noir from Lyon, who lives in Berlin, presents his artwork “Don’t kiss the wall, it’s a crocodile” on a fragment of the Berlin Wall in the Josef-Haubrich-Hall of Arts in Cologne, western Germany, Friday, June 15, 2001. He is the Wall’s first painter. He began his fresco in 1984, and it soon took on gigantic proportions. He had to work fast and at night to avoid detection by border guards. 39 international artists present their work on fragments of the Berlin Wall in the exhibition “1983 – Berlin Wall – Art for Europe in Motion” from June 17 to August 26, 2001.
